Tesla FSD team loses a key figure as Autopilot program product director leaves
Kate Park, Director of Product for Tesla's Autopilot program, recently announced that she has left Tesla to join Scale AI, an AI data platform, as Director of Product.
Kate Par tweeted that she has enjoyed building the Autopilot data engine at Tesla and is excited to expand the product to multiple industries from computer vision to large language models.
Personal news: I've decided to take on a new challenge at @scale_AI as their Director of Product! I had a blast building Tesla Autopilot's data engine and I'm excited to generalize this product for multiple industries from computer vision to large language models.

Kate Park, a former computer science student at Stanford University, joined Tesla in April 2018 as an Autopilot computer vision intern. Prior to that, she interned at Uber, Palantir, and Google. After nearly five years at Tesla, she has served in multiple roles on the Autopilot team, contributing to the development of the program.
As many Tesla fans may recall, late last year, Tesla hosted an AI Day where Kate Park demonstrated the Autopilot data engine and how it can improve neural networks to enhance the performance of Autopilot. Kate Park is also one of the inventors of a 2020 Tesla patent entitled "Autonomous and User-Controlled Vehicle Summoning Target," which she co-creates with Elon Musk and Andrej Karpathy, among others.
Kate Park is moving to Scale AI in San Francisco, where Scale AI says, "At Scale AI, our mission is to accelerate the development of AI applications. We believe that to make the best models, you need the best data." Scale AI works with companies and customers such as Microsoft and Meta, as well as AI companies such as Open AI and Cohere.
Kate Park currently serves as Director of Product Management at Scale AI, according to her Collage profile.
